Russ Alman

Russ Alman has been involved with computers and technology for nearly 30 years. After receiving his BA in communications from Western Michigan University and his masters degree in telecommunications from Michigan State University, Russ pursued a career as a Macintosh computer consultant, providing on-site computer support for small businesses and home users.
As part of his consulting business, Russ built websites and designed marketing and contact databases. He built his first website for his own company in 1996, and soon after began teaching internet courses at a community college in Eugene, Oregon.
Despite his tendency to be on the bleeding edge of technology, Russ was skeptical about the social media. It was not until he joined Facebook in 2008 that he was convinced social media were here to stay .
Russ has spent the last two years learning how to use the social media as a business networking tool. He's also become proficient at developing websites using Web 2.0 technologies, including CMS engines like Joomla! and WordPress, and developing methods to integrate these websites with the social media.
The combination of these tools, plus his years of experience building small businesses through referrals and word of mouth marketing, give us a unique skill set for developing social media campaigns and social media friendly websites.
Russ lives in Olympia, Washington with his wife, Karen, two children, Alexis, and Aaron, and their two doxiepoos, Roxy and Josie. In his spare time, Russ enjoys playing and coaching soccer, photography, and yes, playing around on his Mac and his iPhone.

As the newest team member with the business, Alternative Marketing Connections, Monica joins a team of social media and online experts who also share a passion for technology and communication.
As a writer by trade and technology communication guru by choice, she will keep the online presence for Olympia’s businesses up to date with current fresh and compelling content.
Jonen recently graduated with her Bachelors in Communications from the University of Washington Tacoma (UWT).While in school, she has been published multiple times online and in print for various publications and in nonprofit newsletters from World Vision, Tacoma Community House and in the Math Science Leadership program newsletter.
Before moving to Tacoma to complete her Bachelors at UWT though, she lived in Olympia where she learned about alternative ideas and the world-wide-web going to Avanti High school which is an alternative high school that educates its students relationally and with small class sizes.
Besides alternative ideas and world-wide-web though, her passions also include creating scrapbook pages and stories, reading dramatic love stories and enjoying the beautiful Puget Sound waters.
